LAYLAT AL-QADR: the Night of Decree, Power, Value, and Destiny,
If Today is Laylat al-Qadr? Then today....
Allah shows the angelic scribes what is to occur during this year, and instructs them to copy it down from al-Lawh al-Mahfooz. Then a copy of the decrees concerning provision is given to Meekaa’eel; and a copy of the decrees concerning war is given to Jibraa’eel, and also the decrees concerning earthquakes, thunderstorms and landslides. A copy of the decrees concerning deeds is given to Angel, who is in charge of the lowest heaven; he is a mighty angel. And a copy of the decrees concerning calamities is given to the Angel of Death. Az-Zamakhshari said in al-Kashshaaf: Adwa’ al-Bayaan (7/271), Tafseer Ibn Katheer (7/246). Something similar was stated by at-Taahir ibn ‘Aashoor in at-Tahreer wa’t-Tanweer (6/422) and by Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen in his Fataawa (20/3 44), Tafseer by Ibn Abi Haatim (18527)
- Is better than a thousand months and peace and goodness from Allah to his believing slaves FROM NOW till appearance of the dawn Q97:3, and whoever stays up and prays on Laylat al-Qadr out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven al-Bukhari, 1901, Muslim, 760
THEREFORE, ME AND YOU NEED TO STAND AND PRAY TONIGHT!
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ كَهْمَسِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وَافَقْتُ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ مَا أَدْعُو قَالَ " تَقُولِينَ *اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي* " .
It was narrated from 'Aishah that she said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think I should say in my supplication, if I come upon Laylatul-Qadr?" He said: "Say: Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni* (O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me).'" Sahih (Darussalam) Sunan Ibn Majah 3850
Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni_. May Allah accept our worships
